When the school day ends, the real patterns emerge. Parent Strategy Coaching helps you understand your child’s regulation needs, reduce after school overwhelm, and create practical systems that support both connection and independence at home.

This service combines strategy, structure, and advocacy insight so families can build routines that work and communicate effectively with their child’s school team when needed.

Coaching May Include:

• Understanding masking and post school decompression (after school melt-downs)

• Designing realistic after school regulation plans

• Creating structured homework routines that reduce conflict

• Identifying executive functioning supports at home

• Developing visual schedules, checklists, and family planning systems

• Recognizing when home challenges reflect unmet school needs

• Translating what works at home into meaningful parent input for the IEP team

Manifestation Determination Meetings happen on a fast timeline and the outcome can have major ripple effects on a student’s education, placement, and social experience. In some situations, students may be removed to an interim alternative educational setting for up to 45 school days, so preparation and advocacy matter.

Why this is time sensitive

• Pennsylvania guidance requires a manifestation determination before a disciplinary change in placement for students eligible under IDEA and Section 504, and in certain circumstances it must be conducted within 10 days of the decision to change placement

• Pennsylvania also applies a 15 cumulative school day protection rule related to disciplinary exclusions for students with disabilities
